Artist Lecture with Katie Harper | "What is an Artist's Book?"
The painter Gustav Klimt (1862–1918) observed that "art is a line around your thoughts." Books as an art form capture those thoughts and ideas between covers, in book form. Using the platform of the ‘book,’ these multifaceted works operate as one-part visual art, one-part prose, and one-part sculptural object.
Discover the vast creativity that defines this exciting art form with Katie Harper, a multi-disciplinary artist whose own work embraces photography, printmaking, graphic design, and creative writing. Join her to explore the wide array of artist books, both in terms of her own work but also surveying outstanding examples from throughout history.
